Also, their dimuon asymmetry is of opposite sign compared to that of D0,
although with larger error bars. If one takes the D0 dimuon result and tries to explain it with new physics in B_s mixing, one gets nonsense like sin x = -2.5 (since Delta M_s is very well constrained), see 1005.4238. The bottom line: the D0 result is just another fluke.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2846514233477399562.post-57874097779264789682010-05-25T21:58:55.302+01:002010-05-25T21:58:55.302+01:00it's exactly opposite :-)it's exactly opposite :-)Jesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08947218566941608850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2846514233477399562.post-29023879227992449312010-05-25T11:21:59.048+01:002010-05-25T11:21:59.048+01:00I heard some rumors, that today CDF will present a...I heard some rumors, that today CDF will present a 5-sigma result for new physics from B_s->J/Psi Phi.

interesting stuff...chrisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2846514233477399562.post-44230478016223209132010-05-24T05:56:40.272+01:002010-05-24T05:56:40.272+01:00In the formula i wrote h.c. stands for the hermiti...In the formula i wrote h.c. stands for the hermitian conjugate of the term i wrote explicitly, and that conjugated term corresponds to Bs -> Bsbar. We have found no surprises in Bd mesons which have been studied in more detail, and the spectroscopy of Bs mesons should be similar (a look at the PDG shows that analogous states have been identified in both sectors). This sort of flavor changing operators is even generated at 1 loop in the SM when you exchange W bosons in a box diagram, but obviously this contribution alone does not explain the D0 result. So you need another contribution from KK particles, susy particles, 4th generation, etc...this could be just anybody.Jesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08947218566941608850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2846514233477399562.post-52247311786146141342010-05-17T17:42:41.379+01:002010-05-17T17:42:41.379+01:00Huh, so this is really meant to change the strange...Huh, so this is really meant to change the strangeness by two? ;-)

I don't have a good model for that, do I?Luboš Motlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17487263983247488359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2846514233477399562.post-24513289790300244872010-05-17T17:15:14.644+01:002010-05-17T17:15:14.644+01:00Of course I had a typo in the operator, and now yo...Of course I had a typo in the operator, and now you have one too ;-)Jesterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08947218566941608850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2846514233477399562.post-92102318849591126582010-05-17T17:04:04.096+01:002010-05-17T17:04:04.096+01:00Thanks, Jester, interesting!
