Robert Aymar resigned from his post.
I assume full responsibility for what has happened, he said. The Council appointed a

John Ellis, as next Director General.
Experimentalists have proven incapable of managing such a complicated and sensitive project as the LHC, Ellis said in an interview to the press.
It is now time for a change.
